FAQ

  • How should a ring fit?

The fit should be snug, so that your ring doesn’t slide around on your finger or tip from side to side, but not so tight that it feels restrictive or that you can’t easily slip it on.

  • Are ring sizes universal?

Different countries use different ring sizing schemes, based on a letter or number system. You can refer to our Size Guide below to find your equivalent size. These sizes include men’s and women’s rings.

  • How do I find out my ring size?

There are a few ways to check your ring size. If you don’t have an existing ring that you can measure, or you think your ring size might have changed, you can have your ring size checked professionally and accurately by visiting us in-stores.

If you are shopping online or would prefer to find our your ring measurement at home, use our printable ring size chart.

Another simple way to check your ring size from home is to measure the inside diameter of a properly fitting ring that you already own, then refer to our Size Guide table to convert the measurement to your ring size. Ensure you are using a ruler with millimetre measurements, then place your ring on top of the ruler and measure the inside of the circle – in other words, the part that is in contact with your finger. Double-check for accuracy.

  • Will my ring size change?

Yes, your ring size will be different for different fingers and it is common for your fingers to be slightly different sizes on each hand. It’s also natural for your finger size to fluctuate somewhat over time. For this reason, if your measurement falls between two sizes, it’s best to order the larger size; many rings are also available in half sizes.

  • I am shopping for a gift. How do I get my loved one's ring size?

The best way to measure someone else’s ring size (in secret!) is to borrow one of their existing rings to use as a reference. Note that ring size will differ slightly between different fingers and both hands. So, try to use a ring that they wear on the same finger. Measure their ring against our Size Chart, or measure the inside diameter as above.

If you can borrow one of their rings for a little bit longer without giving away the surprise, bring it to us in-stores and we can help you get the perfect measurement.

If you’re stuck, you can try asking their friends or family if they know their ring size. And if all else fails, check whether the ring you are looking at can be resized or exchanged.

  • Can rings be resized?

This depends on the style of ring and what material it is made from. While gold and sterling silver rings can be resized, some metals, including titanium and tungsten rings, cannot be resized because of the metals’ extreme hardness. Likewise, ring styles that feature diamonds or gemstones set the entire way around the band cannot be resized, because one or more of the stones would have to be removed in the process.

A ring that has an intricate pattern which extends all the way around the band is difficult to resize, because the pattern would need to be matched perfectly when upsizing or downsizing. You will also want to ensure that your ring or the one you are gifting your partner is the right fit before having any special engravings made, as resizing could affect your engraving.

You don’t want to take a wild guess at ring sizes, because if it requires significant upsizing or downsizing (more than two sizes either way) this could affect the look of your ring or not be possible depending on its design. Use our ring measuring tips above, chat to our customer service team, or book your Virtual or In-Store Appointment if you have any questions.
