After the magical moment of becoming engaged and before the big day itself arrives, comes all the excitement of planning your perfect wedding day.
Whether you’re thinking about your own special day celebrating with loved ones, or you just love a wedding inspiration moment (who doesn’t?), we asked the gorgeous Rochelle (@justanothermannequin) – content creator, stylist, photographer and soon-to-be-bride to take us through her ultimate inspiration.
“When it comes to my dream wedding, I think laid-back, intimate and full of all my favourite people. Something a little bit unique, and customised, so that it truly does represent the two of us. Because when a crafty handyman, (who’s just waiting for his next project!) marries a floral enthused, wildly passionate stylist, you simply can’t do it any other way!
Yep, we’re throwing out all traditions and doing things a little differently, with as much DIY as possible, as many flowers as possible and of course everything else we need to have a wildly good time!
Starting with the venue, which is simply an AirBnB. Although a very photogenic, very romantic, Tuscan-inspired one at that! Think intimate gardens, lit up with strings of festoon lights and full of as many dried flower arrangements as we can possibly prepare. With relaxed seating and a food truck to feed us, we want our friends and family to be dancing between cocktails at the caravan bar (prepared by the groom himself!), and exploring the grounds! All while making the most of our favourite local jazz band who will be playing our favourites well into the night.
As for the dress, just like the rest of our wedding, it will be the perfect mix of unique, yet timeless! Something with a little texture, whether it be lace or sequin, and more likely than not, a backless shape. Since it will be making enough of a statement all on its own, I’ll be pairing it with simple, elegant jewellery to compliment. With some rose gold rings to match my shiny new wedding band and a pearl or two to really round out the mix, I’ll be layered exclusively in special pieces I want to wear over and over again!
With the entire night set to be less about us, and more about thanking the people that mean the most, our wedding is all about celebrating the ones who have taught us love, supported us with love and made us into the two people who fell in love in the first place.
With a little bit of sparkle, a whole lot of romance and a cocktail in every hand, of course!”
