Empowering Women.
We are dedicated to driving positive change for disadvantaged women within our communities and have donated over $300,000 to this cause since 2021.
In 2024 we will be continuing existing partnerships with Dress for Success in Australia and Women’s Refuge in New Zealand, plus a new partnership with The Period Purse in Canada, to support women in need.
We are also working with the Collective Good Foundation to empower women in the arid rural village of Danta, North Gujarat, India. Women and girls in this area face challenges including limited avenues for skilled work and work outside the home; lack of financial support for higher education; and a greater burden of domestic and care work. Our partnership has four key focus areas to improve women’s lives in Danta: including providing access to agriculture schemes and water security, food security through home gardening, menstrual education and support, and hygienic toilet refurbishments. We have chosen to support women and girls in Danta in the state of Gujarat - a key diamond region intrinsically linked to the jewellery industry and our business. Rosy Blue Foundation, the registered charity organisation of our key jewellery product supplier in India, will help to coordinate this work on the ground.
As of September 2024, we are thrilled with the progress our team on the ground is making. Over 600 women took part in our home gardening plantation program. We have also identified areas with a critical need for toilet facility refurbishments and sanitary item dispensing. Alongside community need, we ensure that any new facilities can be maintained in future by providing training to local groups. Lastly, our team has conducted ‘train the trainer’ style sessions to educate local women on topics like maternal and child health and menstrual hygiene. We look forward to this training program being rolled out broadly across our targeted communities.
